6-12 Table -Top Gaming Club!
What are we?
We are a 6-12 gaming club that seeks to learn about and experience different types of games that are played on a table, with the ultimate goals of: 1) Sharing our favorite games with others and 2) Making our own game.(Optional)
What do we do?
We play a number of games after school, from 2:30 - 3:30pm every other Monday in room 700. This can be a game brought by a club member or the club leader(s). We rotate games depending on interest level and how long a game type might take. For example: If students like to play cribbage, we might do this for a few meetings. Likewise, if we are on a Role-Playing Campaign, it might take a few to several meetings to finish.
What types of games do we play?
Any type of game that can be played on a table or other flat surface. This could include, but are not limited to:
Board games (Monopoly, Life, etc.)
Traditional Deck Card games (Rummy, Cribbage, etc)
Role playing games (Dungeons & Dragons, etc)
Trading card games (Magic the gathering, Pokemon, etc)
Trivia Games (Trivial pursuit, Are you smarter than a 5th grader?, etc.)
Strategy games (Chess, Checkers, etc)
Educational games (Scrabble, etc.)
Puzzle games
Custom games
Opportunities:
If students so desire and have the motivation, they can attempt to make their own game as a team. Going through the design, review, and revision process; with the ultimate goal of entering their design in competitions and possibly marketing their game. Some examples of conventions that are possible would be 2D con, Protospiel, Boston FIG, Etc.
Where do we meet?
We meet in the high school science room, room 700.
When do we meet?
We meet on one/two Mondays a month from 2:30 - 3:30 pm.
Our first meeting will be on Monday 10/21 @ 2:30pm - 3:30pm in room 700.
